Tractor Trailer Hit Guardrail in Thursday's Turnpike Accident

The accident closed the westbound lanes at mile marker 355 near the Route 1 interchange in Bensalem.

A drifting tractor trailer caused the accident that closed a portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County Thursday afternoon, according to media reports.

The Bucks County Courier Times reported that the accident, which was reported around 11 a.m., happened after the tractor trailer drifted off the roadway and hit a guardrail. The truck then hit a curb at the Neshaminy Creek bridge, causing it to jackknife.
