Christmas City Village will be back with 30 vendor huts for the 2012 holiday season

Christmas City Village Will Add 10 Huts in 2012

Downtown Bethlehem's  will be back for the 2012 holiday season and will grow from 20 to 30 huts, according to the Downtown Bethlehem Association.

Here are 5 things to know:

1. The open air market debuted in 2011 with vendors in wooden huts constructed by students at . The village is based on a German Christmas tradition known as a Weinachstmarkt.

2. The courtyard will again host many of the huts. The other location for huts will change from the to the 1750 Smithy near .

3. The village will open November 23 and run for five weekends as it did last year.

4. The hours will be the same: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

5. Vendor applications will be available online soon via the Downtown Bethlehem Association.

Christmas City Village is separate and distinct from Bethlehem's long-running , which moved from the city's historic industrial quarter to the southside ArtsQuest campus last year.
