Victims' Right Vigil





April 17, 2013, Lehigh Valley, PA.....April 21st through April 27th
is the 2013 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.  This year, Crime Victims
Council of Lehigh Valley will commemorate this special week’s theme“New Challenges, New Solutions”—by
remembering and honoring crime victims, as well as presenting the Annual Allied
Professional Awards for Lehigh and Northampton counties, at its Annual Victims’
Rights Week Vigil on Thursday, April 25th, 6:00 p.m., at the Memorial Tree of
Life Grove, located at Cedar Crest

Among the participants will be
several victim-survivors who will speak about how their lives have been impacted
by crime: Darryl Romig, father of Danni Reese-Romig, Caroline Ann Brader’s
mother, Donna, and Marcus Eggleston’s mother. 
For our 2013 Allied Professional Awards Heather Evans from VAST will be
recognized for her outstanding service to victims of crime and their families. Additionally,
a CVC volunteer, Jessica Miller, will be recognized for her dedication to
providing crisis counseling for hotline callers.  The PA State Police Ceremonial Unit will participate,
Eugene Kutzler will play “Amazing Grace” on the bagpipes and there will be a
release of peace doves to signify the participants’ hopes for a world without

        Crime Victims Council
is a private, nonprofit victim assistance organization which is dedicated to
providing support to victims of all types of crime, as well as their families
and friends.  CVC provides a 24-hour hotline, accompaniment at area
hospitals and at court proceedings, individual and group counseling, help with
filing for Pennsylvania Victims Compensation, prevention education
programs for schools and community groups, and training for professionals.  All Crime Victims Council services are confidential
and provided at no cost.
