Five Facing Drug Charges Heading to Trial

Five people facing a range of drug charges during separate arrests, including possession with intent to deliver, are heading to trial on the charges.

Read about that and other preliminary hearing decisions by District Judge Gary M. Zyra, who oversees Scott Township and Heidelberg, and District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet, who oversees Bridgeville, Collier and South Fayette.

 

District Judge Gary M. Zyra – 1/10

Charges held for court

  • Charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic citations against Jeffrey Colaizzi, 31, of Pittsburgh, were held for court. Scott Township police charged Colaizzi on Oct. 10.

 

Charges waived to court

  • Two felony charges of drug possession with intent to deliver and three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance against Byron L. Davis Jr., 45, of Pittsburgh, were waived to court. Scott Township police arrested Davis Jr. on Jan. 2.
  • Charges of DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia and careless driving against William Volle, 23, of Washington, PA, were waived to court. Scott Township police arrested Volle on Dec. 2.
  • A retail theft charge against Benjamin J. Volle, 21, of Washington, PA, was waived to court, while a criminal mischief charge was withdrawn. Scott Township police arrested Volle on Dec. 2.

 

Charges reduced or dismissed

  • A disorderly conduct charge against Susanne Goolsby, 36, of Carnegie, was reduced to a non-traffic citation. Scott Township police originally charged Goolsby on July 31.
  • Charges of DUI, marijuana possession, possess of drug paraphernalia and reckless driving against Donald R. McCarty, 29, of East Carnegie, were dismissed. Heidelberg police originally charged McCarty on Aug. 5.

 

District Judge Maureen McGraw-Desmet – 1/14

Charges held for court

  • Charges of theft and receiving stolen property against Enoch Leech, 51, of Elizabeth, were held for court. Collier Township police charged Leech on Jan. 6.
  • Two counts of retail theft against Keisha M. Young, 23, of Carnegie, were held for court. Collier Township police charged Young on Nov. 2.
  • Charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia against Duane V. Berry Jr., 20, of Thornburg, were held for court. Bridgeville police originally charged Berry Jr. on Nov. 13.
  • Charges of drunken driving, accident involving damage and careless driving against Kristina L. Gouldsberry, 24, of McKees Rocks, were waived to court. Bridgeville police charged Gouldsberry on Oct. 30.

 

Charges waived to court

  • Charges of drunken driving and careless driving against Joseph C. Gretches, 62, of Carnegie, were waived to court. South Fayette police arrested Gretches on Oct. 24.
  • Charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia against Scott Martik, 31, of Bridgeville, were waived to court. Bridgeville police charged Martik on Nov. 13.
  • Charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia against Christopher T. Dame, 31, of Oakdale, were waived to court. Bridgeville police charged Dame on Nov. 23.
