Scott Township Firefighters Get High Marks

All three of Scott Township’s fire departments were honored for improving their insurance rating and becoming the only municipality with multiple fire halls at that level.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Bower Hill, Glendale and East Carnegie, are rated at “3” ISO levels beginning on April 1. The P-G reported that the new ratings are because the volunteer firefighters showed that their training, equipment, and response times put them into the top tier.

That means Scott Township residents could be paying lower insurance rates soon.

The only neighboring community with a similar rating was Mt. Lebanon.
