I-79 Guide Rail Repairs Taking Place This Week

Attention, commuters.

There will be intermittent, short-term single lane closures in several locations on Interstate-79 and Interstate-279 Monday through Thursday, weather permitting, according to PennDOT.

Crews will be conducting guide rail repairs. All exits and ramps will remain open.

Restrictions will occur in both directions as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the following areas:

I-79

  • Parkway West/Pittsburgh (Exit 59) to Parkway North (Exit 72) interchanges

I-279 (Parkway North)

  • I-79 to Perrysville (Exit 5) interchanges (Note: Inbound restriction will begin at 10 a.m.)

The prime contractor for the repairs is Penn Line Services, Inc. PennDOT advises motorists to use caution and slow down when traveling through the area.
