A three-car pileup shut down a portion of Freedom Road near Autumn Hill Drive for more than an hour Saturday as crews worked to clear the scene.

Chief Brian Kovac said two of the drivers, a man and a woman, were injured. They were taken by ambulance to .

Kovac did not know the extent of their injuries, but said both were conscious when firefighters arrived on scene. The man, who was driving a blue Pontiac sedan, already had exited his vehicle, he said. The woman was cut from her beige Nissan Maxima by firefighters.

Cranberry police are investigating the accident. Officers declined to name the drivers at this time.

Bruce Hezlep, president of the fire company, said volunteers were fighting a rekindle of the owned by the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh on Old Mars Crider Road when they were called to the accident around 2:30 p.m.

It was the fourth time firefighters battled fire at since the original blaze at the vacant multi-unit apartment building early on Wednesday. Firefighters also put out a rekindle on the property on Thursday and again around 6 a.m. Saturday morning, Hezlep said.

The building is one of two abandoned wooden structures located on the future home of l. Prior to the fires, the buildings already were set to be demolished to make room for the school.
