A project to improve the baby pool at Doylestown’s Fanny Chapman Pool will begin in September.
Borough Council has awarded approximately $575,000 for the project, which will double the size of the existing baby pool. Features will include a zero depth entry, spray toys and an increase in the deck area around the pool.
“Our baby pool is about 20 years old and woefully overcrowded at times,” said pool board member KP Jimmink
The work will be completed in time for opening day 2015, according to information from the pool’s Board of Directors.
The contract has been awareded to Stoneridge Inc. of Feasterville.
Borough Manager John Davis told the Intelligencer that the work will be completely funded through the pool’s own budget and no taxpayer dollars will be used.
