Firefighters Battle 4-Hour Weekend Barn Fire In Solebury

Midway Fire Company responded to the scene at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday. Fire crews also responded from multiple agencies to assist.

SOLEBURY TOWNSHIP, PA — Fire burned through a barn for hours Sunday afternoon in the 6200 block of Greenhill Road in Solebury Township.

The Midway Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene at 1:05 p.m. Fire crews also responded from multiple agencies to assist Midway with the lengthy alarm.

Fire crews operated for four hours at the scene, knocking down the fire with hand lines from the ground and from above, providing a water supply with tanker trucks, hitting hot spots and conducting clean up operations.

Assisting Midway at the scene were crews and equipment from Doylestown Fire Company No. 1, Point Pleasant Vol. Fire Co., Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Company, Lingohocken Fire Company, Upper Makefield Volunteer Fire Company, Ottsville Fire Department, Northampton Fire Company, Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1, Hartsville Fire Company, Newtown Fire Rescue, Chalfont Fire Company, Upper Black Eddy Fire Company No. 1, Delaware Valley Volunteer Fire Co., Ringwood Volunteer Fire Department, Sergeantsville Fire Company, and Stockton Fire Company.

Also responding was the Bucks County Fire Marshal's Office, Bucks County Emergency Management, North Penn Goodwill Service, and Central Bucks Emergency Medical Services as well as various local police departments.

Midway’s fire police were assisted with traffic control by officers from Bucks Stations 19, 24, 43, 66, 34 as well as Montgomery County Stations 18, 47, and 95.

Shoppers and restaurants in and around Peddler's Village were impacted by not only closed roadways allowing a more expedited response by fire apparatus but the impact the fire had on the local water supply, which forced the closing of several restaurants on Sunday afternoon and evening.

"As of Monday, October 21 all restaurants have resumed their regular hours of operation," Peddler's Village posted on Facebook. "We are truly grateful for your support and extend
our sincere thoughts to those who lost their barn in the recent tragic fire."
