Temple Student Critical after Shooting

A Temple University student from the Doylestown area was in critical condition Monday after an overnight shooting in Philadelphia.

6ABC reported Monday that Rob Eells, 21, was shot after he exchanged gunfire with three men who tried to rob him.

Eells was in critical condition Monday afternoon at Temple University Hospital, according to hospital spokesman Rick Cushman.

According to 6ABC, the shooting happened near N. 12th and Dauphin around 1:45 a.m. Monday. As Eells and a roommate were smoking outside their apartment, three men tried to rob them at gunpoint, but Eells, who also has a license to carry a gun, shot back, wounding one of the assailants.
