Two-time GRAMMY® winning Turtle Island Quartet to perform at Temple Judea
Turtle Island Quartet will perform on Saturday Nov 19 at 7:30 pm as part of the Arts & Ideas Series at Temple Judea.

Turtle Island Quartet will perform their program A Love Supreme on Saturday Nov 19, 2016 at 7:30 pm as part of the Arts & Ideas Series at Temple Judea of Bucks County. The concert, open to the public, includes music of Coltrane, Dylan and other American jazz masters. The concert program will present an in-depth look at this landmark recording in the greater context of the music that preceded and followed, a time many consider to be the last great evolutionary period of jazz.
Turtle Island Quartet has been described by The Los Angeles Times as “a sterling example of first-rate jazz music-making”. Its name derived from creation mythology found in Native American Folklore, the Turtle Island Quartet, since its inception in 1985, has been a singular force in the creation of bold, new trends in chamber music for strings. The group has received the 2006 and 2008 GRAMMY® Awards for Best Classical Crossover category and cellist nonpareil Yo-Yo Ma has proclaimed TIQ to be “a unified voice that truly breaks new ground – authentic and passionate – a reflection of some of the most creative music-making today.”
Tickets are $10-$40 and available at templejudea.org or by calling 215-348-5022. Some tickets will be available at the door. Temple Judea is located at 38 Rogers Road in Furlong just off Route 263. A dessert reception with the artists will follow the concert.
