Haverford Police Help Reunite Special Needs Child With His Trombone

Aidan and his mom thought the instrument was lost forever, until the phone rang yesterday.

Haverford Police Help Reunite Special Needs Child With His Trombone

An area boy with special needs got an unexpected lift from Haverford Police yesterday when the department returned his missing trombone, NBA Philadelphia and other sources are reporting.

According to the website, Aidan Milligan, a nine-year-old from Drexel Hill who’s afflicted with down syndrome, lost the instrument on Thursday when he left it by the curb near the family car.

The trombone disappeared a few minutes later and didn’t turn up until, out of the blue, Aidan’s mom got a call from Haverford Township Police on Sunday. The department told her, she later told the Philadelphia Inquirer, that someone had returned the horn to Philadelphia Police.

"I'm just overjoyed, I'm delighted," Helen Milligan told the paper. "I don't think anybody ever thought we were going to see that trombone again. So whoever turned that in, I give him a lot of credit."
