Upper Macungie Woman Arrested for DUI

On Jan. 20 at 11:40pm police say an officer on patrol in the area of the Saucon Square shopping center "observed a vehicle drive straight through a stop sign in front of , (and) then turn left at the next traffic light without using a signal." Police said in a press release that the car was subsequently stopped on Route 378 South and its driver identified as Carin Minchen, of the 300 block of Barn Swallow Road, Upper Macungie Township. Police said Minchen exhibited signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. She was determined to have a blood aclohol content (BAC) of .15 percent and was arrested for DUI, they said.

Man Arrested for DUI After Being Pulled Over for Alleged High-Beam Lighting Violation

On Feb. 4 at 2:49am police say they stopped Manuel Ramirez Jr., 25, of the 2600 block of Dekalb Pike, East Norriton, Pa., after he allegedly passed a patrol car on Route 378 south without switching his headlights from their high-beam setting to their low-beam setting. Police said in a press release that Ramirez was arrested for DUI after he was stopped, and that his blood alcohol content was determined to be .16 percent. Ramirez was charged with DUI by mail, they added.

Bethlehem Man Arrested for DUI

On Feb. 5 at 1:48am police say Jose Velazquez, of the 700 block of Fiot Avenue, Bethlehem, was timed traveling at 57.5mph in a posted 30mph zone on Route 378. Police said Velazquez was stopped at Route 378 and Koehler Drive, and that an odor of alcohol was detected at that time. Velazquez failed all field sobriety tests, police said, and was arrested for DUI. He was later determined to have a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .18 percent, they added.

Man, Woman Charged Following Leithsville Road Traffic Stop

On Feb. 6 at 8:38pm police say they stopped a vehicle for "suspicious activity" on Leithsville Road. Police said an occupant of the vehicle, David Hoyos, 22, of the 400 block of West Washington Street, Allentown, was subsequently found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe. Another occupant, identified by police as Argelis Machado, 23, of the 400 block of N. 22nd Street, Allentown, was found to be in possession of two open Coors Lite cans. Hoyos has been charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and Machado received a traffic citation for restrictions on alcoholic beverages, police said in a press release.

East University Avenue Resident Will Be Cited for Littering, Police Say

On Feb. 8 at 7:30am police say trash was found tossed along the side of Mountain Drive near the Bethlehem Star. Police said in a press release that items among the trash bore the name of Cassady Ryan Condash, of the 1400 block of East University Avenue, Lower Saucon Township. Police said Condash will receive a non-traffic citation for scattering rubbish as a result of the discovery.

Steel City Man Cited for Alleged Dog Law Violation

On Feb. 8 at 4:31pm police say they responded to the 2100 block of Johnston Avenue, where a dog owned by Thomas Baab was allegedly not confined within its own property. Police said in a press release that a neighbor, Martha Pearson, also "stated (that) her neighbor's dog has been using her lawn as it's (sic) personal toilet for years." Baab was "advised of the problem and received a citation for the violation," police added.

Couple 'Engaged in Sexual Activity' in Park, Police Say

On Feb. 9 at 2:11pm police say Robert F. Digiovanni, of the first block of Stone Fence Road, Bernardsville, N.J., and Samantha Rose Blake, of the 2100 block of Hayfield Court, Fogelsville, were found "engaged in sexual activity" in South Mountain Park. Both Digiovanni and Blake were issued citations for disorderly conduct and released, police said.

Man Allegedly Banged on Woman's Door, Fled When Police Arrived

On Feb. 10 at 3:24am police say Thomas Cannizzo, 26, of the 1000 block of Oakwood Street, Palmer Township, banged on the door of 23-year-old Aishe Skepi's residence in the 3600 block of Fire Lane. Police said Cannizzo was also "yelling for her to let him in." When police arrived at the home, Cannizzo allegedly fled. He was subsequently located and determined to be under the influence of alcohol, police said. Cannizzo was issued citations for disorderly conduct and driving with a suspended license, they added.

Woman Cited Following Accident at Convalescent Home

On Feb. 10 at approximately 7:34am police say they were dispatched to , 1896 Leithsville Road, after a car accident was reported. Police said in a press release that upon arrival, they determined that Martha L. Schlegel, 63, of the 300 block of Main Street, Hellertown, had struck a support beam of a building. Schlegel "was observed trying to leave the area" before she was stopped by an employee, police said. She will be cited for leaving the scene of an accident involving damage to unattended property, they added.

New Jersey Man Cited for Public Drunkenness

On Feb. 11 at 10:05pm police say Michael S. Schwarzenbach, 21, of the 100 block of Jacksonville Drive, Parsippany, N.J., "staggered into the path of a parked patrol car in the Black River Plaza parking lot" on Route 378 in Lower Saucon Township. Police said in a press release that Schwarzenbach "reeked of alcohol and had difficulty standing or walking." He was cited for public drunkenness, they added.
