Drunk Lansdale Man, Accused of Knife Assault, Steals from Rite Aid: Cops

A man accused of swinging a knife at a runner in Lansdale last August has been arrested after stealing from a Rite Aid, police said.

LANSDALE, PA -- A man accused of swinging a knife at a runner in Lansdale last August has been arrested after stealing from a Rite Aid, police said.

A criminal complaint states that Jonathan Basile Borzelleca attempted to steal several items on December 29 from the Rite Aid on West Main Street.

Borzelleca first attempted to walk out of the store with cold medication valued at $21.99, but he set the store alarm off, the complaint states. He returned the medication to the clerk and then fled the scene.

Police said that he returned less than an hour later, where police saw him stumbling and reeking of alcohol down one of the aisles. A total of $88.21 in stolen items was found on his person when he was arrested, according to authorities.

Borzelleca, who now faces additional shoplifting charges, is currently awaiting trial for the assault in August.
