Chemical Spill Had No Adverse Impact On Local Water Supply: Police

Police asked residents and businesses in the area of the spill to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution.

TULLYTOWN, PA -- A chemical spill was reported Thursday morning at the Lower Bucks County Joint Municipal Authority.

The spill had no adverse impacts on the water supply, authorities said. However, Tullytown police did ask residents and businesses in the area of the spill to keep their windows and doors closed as a precaution

The spill was first reported at about 8:30 a.m., according to police. It was reported contained at around 10 a.m. and the plant was fully operational later in the day.

The precise nature of the spill was not clear. The Bucks County Courier Times reported it was cleaning solution that leaked due to a malfunctioning valve.

No injuries were reported.
