Spring-Ford Sophomore Arrested for Threats

The Limerick Township Police have arrested a 15-year-old Spring-Ford Area High School sophomore after he allegedly threatened to shoot someone at the Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, the juvenile reportedly told other students that he was going to "shoot up the place" and that "someone is going to get shot".

Limerick Township police chief William Albany told Patch that the principal and a security officer notified police about the alleged threats two weeks ago. The investigation continued after the Thanksgiving break, and after interviewing the juvenile and several witnesses, the student was arrested.

A district spokesperson said that the incident occurred on November 14 and the student was disciplined by the district.

The student was charged with two counts of making terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, and harrassment. He is being held at the Montgomery County Youth Center pending an evaluation.
