Breaking: Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene after a trash truck went up in flames in the borough on Tuesday morning.

ROYERSFORD, PA — Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene after a trash truck went up in flames in the borough on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of Arch Street and 5th Avenue, authorities said.
The Royersford Fire Department, along with crews from Spring City, Linfield, and Upper Providence battled back the blaze, quickly extinguishing it.

Nearby roads were closed by Royersford police while crews handled the fire.
Royersford Elementary School, just half a block down the street from the fire, did not have any activities impacted or delayed by the blaze.

"Every week, I feel so grateful that we have such a wonderful working relationship with neighboring municipalities. Thanks to our own First Responders and for the help of everyone this morning," Mayor Jenna Antoniewicz said in a statement.
No injuries were reported.
