But retail theft at a yard sale?

That's what report happened recently in a residential neighborhood in the 7000 block of McKee Court.

Armando Aybar Jr., 33, of 361 N. Bradford St., Allentown, visited the yard sale held by Douglas Teti. Aybar took a pink Motorola cell phone that was offered for sale without paying for it, police said.

Teti didn't have surveilance cameras on his roof or Loss Prevention Specialists at the ready. However, a keen eye soon found what appeared to be the same phone offered for sale on Craigslist.

Police said they called the suspect and arranged to meet on Aug. 11 to view the phone. Theft charges were filed as a result of the subsequent attempted sale.

Sound unusual? State police a year earlier reported a theft from another yard sale in the township on Aug. 6, 2011. , police were looking for a woman described as being in her 40s who reportedly took an iPod and jewelry from a sale in the Hills of Lockridge Development.
