On Sunday, January 26, 2014, the mothers, fathers and youth of The Bucks County Chapter of Jack & Jill, Incorporated had the special distinction of meeting Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick, U.S. House of Representatives of the 8th District of Pennsylvania. Congressman Fitzpatrick shared his views on the significance of education and family values as he spoke and fielded questions from the enthusiastic youth. Rep. Fitzpatrick verbalized his support for initiatives focusing on leadership skills that will enhance them as future leaders and productive citizens in our community of Bucks County and beyond.

Jack & Jill of America, Incorporated is a nationwide organization of 30,000 family members dedicated to the educational and cultural development of children. The organization is devotedly engaged in the advocacy of legislation that endorses education and the welfare of children.  Its efforts have included "On the Hill Summit", which is a biannual conference held in Washington D.C. where parents and the children of Jack & Jill of America, Incorporated visit their Congressional representatives and promote the four-pronged national legislative platform of the organization.  Jack and Jill of America Incorporated four-pronged national legislative supports, adequate healthcare for families, quality education for all children, reform of the juvenile justice system, and prevention of gun violence.

The Legislative Committee of The Bucks County Chapter of Jack & Jill Incorporated extended the invitation to Representative Fitzpatrick designed as part of the organization's overall legislative advocacy efforts.  The Chapter's teens also played an active role in the legislative activity led by Lexy Whyte and Michael King, the co-chairs of the teen’s Legislative Committee who formally introduced the Congressman and presented a token of their appreciation to commemorate the event.

"Knowing that we can build a partnership with Congressional representatives like Mike Fitzpatrick and work towards our common vision of fostering development of our youth is strategically important to Jack & Jill as well as our society as a whole," said Kristie King, President of the Bucks County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated.
