Roadway reportedly blocked; three are injured.

Update 4:00 p.m.: Gregg Tinkham, chief ranger for Valley Forge National Historic Park, the lead investigator in accident, said that today's accident was a head-on collision. 

According to Tinkham, at 3 p.m. today, a Toyota Camry with single driver was heading eastbound on Valley Forge Park Road. At the same time, a Cadillac with a driver and single additional passenger was driving westbound.

A head-on collision occurred when the eastbound Camry car crossed into westbound lane. A preliminary investigation from Tinkham reported that  the Camry's driver was ejected from car, through passenger’s side door.

All three people involved were taken to Paoli Hospital. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown. 

Abel Brothers are at the scene to tow away both vehicles. Two flatbeds are at the scene.

Traffic still being re-routed as the scene is cleared.

Update 3:40 p.m.: Traffic is being rerouted at the intersection of Valley Forge Road and County Line Road away from the scene on South Gulf Road. It is being directed onto North Gulf Road.

Anyone trying to make a right onto Trooper will be redirected. Police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.

Update 3:31 p.m. The vehicles involved are a black Toyota Camry and a large silver sedan, possibly a Cadillac.

Two ambulances departed from the scene, one with sirens, one without.

A vehicle from the Upper Merion Township Crime Scene Unit has arrived at the scene.

We have no indication of the conditions of either driver at this time.

A serious two-vehicle crash has taken place near the intersection of S. Trooper Road and Valley Forge Park Road, according to Montgomery County public safety radio reports.

Reports indicate the crash took place shortly after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.

The vehicles involved are said to be blocking the roadway.

A reporter who has just arrived at the scene says the crash scene is at the entrance to Valley Forge National Park and that S. Gulph Road has already been closed by emergency responders.
