Graterford Inmate Found Dead, Investigation Commences: Officials
An inmate at Graterford was found dead Tuesday morning. The cause of death has not yet been released.

An inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Graterford was found dead on Tuesday morning, spokespersons with the prison have announced.
William Edinger, 38, was found unresponsive in his cell at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday morning, the prison said.
Edinger was in the midst of serving a 3- to 8-year sentence for burglary in Philadelphia, according to the prison.

Officials said that prison staff immediately provided life-saving measures but that he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter in the prison's infirmary.
State police are investigating the death.

The Montgomery County Coroner's office will determine the cause of death, the prison said.
Edinger's sentence began in February of 2008, and he was returned to Graterford on April 14, 2016 because he was in violation of his parole, according to officials.
