The afternoon rush became much worse than usual Thursday when a tractor trailer crashed in the northbound lanes of Route 202 at Matlack Avenue in West Goshen.

Traffic on Route 202 is backed up in both directions around the truck, which is mostly off in the woods on the side of the road.

According to towing, the 18-ton truck was hauling chicken legs. The trailer broke open in the crash, so its contents must be unloaded by hand before the truck can be righted, which could take up to four hours.

[Edited 9pm to correct the truck's weight from 70,000 to 36,000 pounds, and clarify that it was carrying chicken legs.]
