Broken Traffic Laws Result in Vehicle Stop, DUI Arrest
On July 19 at approximately 3:58 a.m., police began to follow a silver Toyota Avalon at the 4200 block of West Chester Pike after noticing its right turn signal was activated with no upcoming right turn signals available, according to the report. The vehicle was pulled over after traveling at a speed of approximately 35 mph in a posted 55 mph zone, according to the report. As a police officer approached the stopped vehicle, it began to move in reverse and came close to striking the front of the police patrol car before stopping, according to the report. The driver submitted to a portable breath test and more than tripled the legal limit of .08 blood alcohol content (BAC) with a BAC of .288, according to the report. After failing an additional field sobriety test, the driver was arrested for DUI and taken into police custody.
Man Gets Citation for Criminal Trespass
On July 15 at approximately 8:20 a.m., a man was cited for criminal trespass at the Springton Reservoir on 3900 Gradyville Road, according to the report. He was seen passing two signs prohibiting fishing or being on the lake premises.
