50th Annual Pumpkin Festival

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Where: Culbertson Elementary School
  • Why Go: Families in the community are invited to attend the 50th Annual Pumpkin Festival and help support the Culbertson PTO.  Enjoy a day of food, games, prizes, pumpkin carving and raffle baskets.
  • Cost: Free

2nd Annual Harvest Moon Party

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.
  • Where:
  • Why Go: Bring the family out for a night of fall fun.  Enjoy a seasonal chili feast, homemade desserts, bonfire and live music.  There will be door prizes and a 50-50 raffle. 
  • Cost: $20 adult, kids under 10 free

43rd annual BANDARAMA

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.
  • Where: Marple Newtown Senior High School
  • Why Go: Eight local area Marching Bands will join the award winning Marple Newtown Tiger Band in their home Cavalcade of Bands Competition Show. Food will be available for purchase this evening.  Please come out for a fun evening and support these talented musicians!
  • Cost: $10 for Adults and $7 for Students/Seniors

Marple Community Pride Day

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Where: The field at West Chester Pike and Malin Road, Broomall
  • Why Go: Come out and meet merchants and representatives of volunteer groups.  There will be food, displays, demonstrations, a zip-line, document shredding, used book and DVD sales and other fun activities for children and adults.
  • Cost: Free

5th Annual Michelle's Miles

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 a.m.
  • Where: Episcopal Academy
  • Why Go: Michelle's Miles celebrates the life of Michelle Deasey, an Episcopal Academy (EA) third grader who passed away in late 2007. It's a chance for family, friends, former classmates, and teachers to gather together and remember Michelle's infectious spirit, sportmanship, grace, and courage.  There will be several kids runs as well as a 5K and 1 mile walk.  All registrants will receive a t-shirt. The race proceeds will be directed towards the Michelle Deasey Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Episcopal Academy Parents' Association.
  • Cost: Kids Runs & 1 Mile Walk - $10; $25 - 5K

Broomall Rotary's Doggy Show (Rescheduled)

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 12:30 p.m.
  • Where: Veteran's Memorial Park, Broomall
  • Why Go: Come out for some family and doggy fun! Enter your dog in the costest to win best costume, cutest puppy, waggiest tail, best kisser, best trick and best behaved lap dog over 50lbs.  The Philadelphia Dog Training Club will conduct an obedience training demonstration to illustrate the basic and effective techniques of dog training. Afterwards, there will be a fun filled Interactive Rally Course that is open to all dogs.  The SPCA will be there to show pets for adoption.

Delco SPCA's Bark in the Park

  • When: Saturday, October 13, all day
  • Where:
  • Why Go: Start the 6th Annual Bark in the Park Dog Walk and Fall Festival off with a 2-mile dog walk at 9 a.m. for a $25 donation fee (a dog is not a must for the walk). Then enjoy raffles, giveaways, food, a bake sale, pet photo booth and craft tables. Eagles Cheerleaders and WMMR’s Steve Morrison of the Preston & Steve Show will judge the dog contests (who will win best ears?). Meet Curious George, survivor of animal cruelty, and his parents from noon to 3 p.m. And attend the low-cost vaccination and micro-chipping clinic from 11-2 p.m. It's a dogs day out! Be sure to stop by Patch's table too and say hello.

Martins Run 5K to Defeat Dementia

  • When: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 a.m.
  • Where: Delaware County Community College
  • Why Go: Come help Martin's Run raise the necessary funds needed for their dementia unit.  There is a 5k, a one mile walk, kids races and games, food, music and fun.
  • Cost: $25, $10 child under 10, $60 family
