Dogs Rescued From Thailand Arrive At Providence Animal Center

The pups had a long journey to the states and now they need a forever home.

The Providence Animal Center has some new residents at it facility, but these pups have a unique story: they were rescued from Thailand.

The animal center said on Facebook that two of their Humane Society Police Officers headed to New York City over the weekend to shuttle puppies back to Delaware County after they endured an 18-hour flight across thousands of miles.

The center said the rescued puppies are almost ready to go home with a forever family this week and the public is invited to stop by and visit the new, hopefully temporary, residents.

According to 6ABC, a New York City woman went to Thailand and was appalled at the treatment of dogs so she paid a hefty price to have them sent back to the states.

"Out of her pocket, spent up to $5,000 to board these dogs, get them their necessary vaccinations and vetting, and got them over to us. So our job now is to find them forever homes," Justina Calgiano of the Providence Animal Center told the outlet.
