Officials from Moon and last night offered a glimpse inside a new, high-definition production trailer that will be used to broadcast Moon-area events.

The trailer, purchased by the township in May from Pittsburgh-based Lerro Corp. at a cost of $19,103, will be used to broadcast meetings and sporting events from around the area for both RMU productions, and the new

RMU entered into a five-year sponsorship deal with the township for use of the trailer, contributing $10,000 toward its cost. The trailer was first used last week to broadcast football team's season opener against Mars.

"Well, the first thing is really the space," said Jim Koepfinger, MCA-TV executive director, of the 20- by 16-foot trailer. "It's almost double the size of the other trailer."

The township's former 16-year-old production trailer, which could often be seen parked outside of township events, will be used as a storage receptical for the township's department.

The new trailer bears the emblems for both MCA-TV and RMU and is equipped with high-definition technology.

"I think residents are really going to notice a difference in their picture quality," Koepfinger said. "This is really a step forward."
