Firefighters Knock Down Car Fire In Newtown Township

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Newtown Fire and Rescue quickly knocked down a car fire on Tuesday afternoon on Washington Crossing Road near Lakeview Estates.

Rescue 45 responded to the scene and extinguished the fire using hand lines. The fire erupted in a 2010 Volvo SUV.

The road was closed for about 30 minutes while firefighters cleaned up the scene.

In other Newtown Fire and Rescue news, the department recently announced its new slate of fire officers for 2024.

They are: Chief Glenn Forsyth, Assistant Chief Nicholas Weaver, Deputy Chief Rory LaRosa, Battalion Chief Brian Gerhard, Captain Dallas Alves, Captain Nicholas Forsyth and Lieutenant Nick Hill.
