The threat that prompted Council Rock School District officials to close Council Rock High School South was specific that that school, Superintendent Mark Klein confirmed.
According to Klein, on Thursday evening, the district received information about a threat specific to South. No further details about the nature of the threat have been released.
Northampton Township police department conducted an investigation into the threat. As a result of that investigation, a South student has been arrested and taken into police custody.
"As a precaution, Council Rock South is closed to allow the police to conduct a security sweep of the building to ensure that the school is safe for students and staff," Klein said.
