Road Closures Announced In Newtown For Donald Trump Visit

Newtown Township Police have released some information regarding road closures associated with Donald Trump's visit later today.

Newtown Township Police have released some information regarding road closures associated with Donald Trump's visit to the Newtown Athletic Club on Friday.

The visit by the Republican candidate for president will undoubtedly bring a "large amount of people and vehicle traffic" to the area, Newtown Township Police said.

Beginning at 3 p.m., Pheasant Run from the entrance to the Newtown Athletic Club to Penns Trail will be closed to all traffic until 9:30 p.m. All of Pheasant Run between Penns Trail and Terry Drive will be closed from 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and from approximately 8:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

"If you need to be in the area or have to travel through the area please be aware of the road closing," police said.

The rally begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Newtown Athletic Club Sports Training Center. The main NAC facility will remain open to the public, but club owner Jim Worthington has said to expect parking to be tight.

Doors to the Newtown event open at 4:30 p.m. Worthington said he expects people to start arriving even earlier. The NAC Sports Training Center is located at 120 Pheasant Run, Newtown.

The rally in Newtown is one of two events Trump has scheduled in Pennsylvania this Friday. The Republican candidate will be in Johnstown for a 4 p.m. rally earlier in the day.
