Coffee Talk Reopens as Artists' Co-Op

The quaint West End coffee shop shuttered a few months ago, but has reopened as an artists' co-operative.

celebrated it's reopening as a gathering place for artists and musicians on Friday with an evening of music and art talk and owners Aleks and Joel Eigen put together this video to introduce the public to the shop's new mission. 

While there's no word on a daily schedule, Coffee Talk will host author Richard Ladson on Wednesday, April 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to read from his book, Very Short Stories. Admission is $3.50.

On Friday, May 11, local author Steve O'Driscoll will sign copies of his new book, Rendezvous in Quebec from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Eigens are also hosting a short story contest in honor of the Norristown Bicentennial. To enter, email your story to aleksct@yahoo.com by June 30. There is a $5 entry fee and first, second and third place prizes will be awarded. The story must be no longer than 1000 words and must include the words "Norristown," "historic" and "anniversary." Pictures can be included.
