Plymouth Ambulance Launches 'Operation Christmas Kids'

On Saturday, emergency responders from all over Montgomery County joined Plymouth Ambulance in delivering a bit of holiday joy to sick children.

This Saturday, Dec. 15, some area residents caught a glimpse of an impromptu parade courtesy of emergency responders from all over Montgomery County. Firetrucks, ambulances, and police and county sheriff's vehicles made their way from Plymouth Community Ambulance Association's headquarters on Germantown Road in Plymouth to Bryn Mawr and St. Christopher's hospitals sirens sounding and loaded for bear with toys for the children.

This was third year for the annual run and the urge to do something for children suffering at holiday time took on a very poignant meaning after the tragedy on Friday.

"Unfortunately there was a tragedy this year in Newtown, Connecticut," said Plymouth Ambulance Chief of Operations Thomas Trojansky. "I know a lot of the public safety people would love to help out [in Connecticut], but this is their way of helping out the community in our local territory."

Departments and companies involved in this year's Operation Christmas Kids run include:

  • Plymouth Ambulance
