In an attempt to attract new tenants, developers are planning a major makeover of the currently vacant building at 4870 McKnight Road.

The Ross Planning Commission has approved installation of an external insulated facade system ( EIFS) for the building located at McKnight at Siebert Roads. At one time, it housed the Berkeley Hills Pharamacy and a mattress store.

The property is being redeveloped by the real estate brokerage firm CB Richard Ellis. According to an online real estate listing, the Shoppes at McKnight-Siebert offers a 9,656 square foot retail space which can be subdivided to meet a tenant's needs.

The building and 31,468 square foot lot is valued at $1,003,000 and is owned by Weidner N H Inc., according to the Allegheny County Real Estate web site.

No word on when the facade restoration work will begin.
