The Parkland School Board approved several personnel changes at its meeting Tuesday, including hires, retirements, resignations and status changes.

The Parkland School Board approved hires, resignations, retirements and status changes at its meeting Tuesday.

Hires

  • Colleen C. Schleicher, of Breinigsville, as a full-time teaching assistant at Springhouse Middle School, at an annual salary of $25,334, prorated. The position is being subsidized through additional ACCESS funds.
  • Timarie E. Goodwin, of Allentown, as a part-time teaching assistant at Parkway Manor Elementary School, effective Feb. 5, at an hourly rate of $17.79. The position is being subsidized through additional ACCESS funds. 
  • Mary K. Redding, of Bethlehem, as a temporary learning support teacher at Kernsville Elementary School, effective Jan. 28, at an annual salary of $55,980, prorated. Redding will be a substitute for Debra Charles, who is on a leave of absence.
  • Brittany N. Vazquez, of Bethlehem, as a temporary physical education teacher at Parkway Elementary School, effective Feb. 6. Vazquez will be a short-term substitute, at the daily rate of $250, for Lori McClure, who is on a leave of absence.
  • Joshua M. Inman, of Allentown, PA, as a temporary math teacher at Parkland High School, effective March 15. Inman will be a short-term substitute, at a daily rate of $250, for Christy Keating, who will be on a childrearing leave of absence.
  • Kate A. Alford, as a mentor for Rebecca Freed at Springhouse Middle School, through the end of the 2012-2013 school year, at a contracted stipend.
  • Kelly Salvaterra, as a mentor for Mary Anderson at Kernsville Elementary School, through the end of the 2012-2013 school year, at a contracted stipend.
  • Christine L. Sarnicky, as a mentor for Mary Redding at Kernsville Elementary School, through the end of the 2012-2013 school year, at a contracted stipend.
  • Albert J. Dommel, of Whitehall, as a full-day vehicle driver, at a daily rate of $79.58, effective Feb 12, replacing Stephanie Dorman, who resigned.

Change of Status

  • Charley A. Wittman, from part-time custodian to full-time custodian at Parkland High School, effective Feb. 21, at an annual salary of $41,195, prorated, replacing Douglas Reed, who retired.
  • John H. Long, from substitute school bus driver to full-day school bus driver, effective Jan. 31, at a daily rate of $106, replacing Carol Adams, who retired.
  • Samuel T. Diubaldo, from substitute school bus driver to full-day school bus driver, effective February 6, 2013, at a daily rate of $106.14, replacing Rose Ann Moyer, who resigned.
  • David L. Oncay, from substitute school bus driver to full-day school bus driver, effective Feb. 6, at a daily rate of $106, replacing Bernard Hollod, who retired.

Retirements

  • Yvonne M. Schweighardt, paraprofessional at Springhouse Middle School, retiring after 27 years in education, effective at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
  • Lorilee A. Lyons, paraprofessional at Springhouse Middle School, retiring after 19 years in education, effective at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
  • Richard R. Hanner, garage mechanic, retiring after 20 years of service, effective Aug. 6.

Resignations

  • Kimberly H. Puff, teaching assistant at Parkland High School, effective Oct. 23, per separation and release agreement.
  • Kaylee Schab, varsity dance team coach at Parkland High School, effective March 1.
  • Valerie A. Bernhart, full-day bus driver, effective January 30, 2013.
