Forks Community Days Praise High

Forks Township knows how to put on a party.

Forks officials commended everyone involved with last weekend's annual Forks Community Days, stating that the two-day event was a huge success and attendance was the highest ever.

"It was an outstanding event," Supervisor Dan Martyak said. He also praised the public works and recreation departments for their efforts.

"It was great and well-run. Everyone did a fantastic job," Supervisor David Billings said.

Supervisors Chairman Erik Chuss said that attendance was up significantly and that Sunday's turnout seemed to be more than double of what it usually is.

He also thought the new layout, with Community Days anchored around the amphitheater, worked well.

And kudos were given out to Community Days Chairman Brian Lotikis and Alison Miers, vice president of the Business and Commerce Association of Forks Township, for pulling off the event.

"They did an amazing job," Chuss said.

Township Manager John Cornell attended his first Community Days and urged everyone to go.

Police Chief Greg Dorney reported no incidents. He had expressed concern regarding beer being allowed around the festival grounds, but stated that "from a police standpoint, it was a huge success. And that makes me happy."
