Lehigh Valley Gas Prices Up 20.2 Cents from Last Year

According to the most recent data from AAA's Fuel Gauge Report, the average price for self-serve unleaded gas in the Lehigh Valley is $3.626 per gallon - up 3.3 cents from last week, down 22.4 cents from a month ago and up 20.2 cents from 2011.

The national average is lower - $3.44 for a gallon of self-serve unleaded.

That price is down 2.3 cents from a week ago, down 35.4 cents from last month and 1.8 cents higher than a year ago.

AAA predicts: "The national average price will be $3.25-$3.40 by Thanksgiving and $3.10-$3.30 by the end of the year. Lower crude oil prices have added to the recent downward pressure on retail gasoline prices. With continued signs of global economic weakness and a somewhat stronger U.S. dollar, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices have continued to move lower. At the close of yesterday’s formal trading on the NYMEX, WTI crude oil was down 50 cents on the day to settle at $85.57 per barrel."
