About Jim Gerlach:
U.S. Representative Jim Gerlach is currently serving his fifth term in Congress. He serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, and the subcommittees on Health and Select Revenue.

Gerlach grew up in Western PA, put himself through college and law school, and previous served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the Pennsylvania Senate.

About Manan Trivedi:
Challenger Manan Trivedi is the son of immigrants from India, and was raised in Fleetwood, Berks County. Trivedi served as the battalion surgeon for the 1st Battalion, 5th Regiment Marine Corps Infantry Battalion, amount the first U.S. ground forces to enter Iraq.

After serving in Iraq, Trivedi earned a Master's Degree in Health Policy, and served a health policy advisor to the Navy Surgeon General. Currently, he is a primary care physician in the region.

Sixth Congressional District History:
Gerlach has held onto his seat in the 6th Congressional District through four hard-fought elections, including two races against Lois Murphy, who is now a Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas Judge.

In 2004 and 2006, Gerlach managed narrow wins, 51% to 49%, against Murphy. In 2008, and 2010, he widened his margins against his opponents.

Gerlach/Trivedi Polls:
There have been no public polls released. In 2010, Gerlach beat Trivedi by 14.2 points.
