Former Phoenixville Math Teacher Makes PA Softball Hall of Fame

Tom Schadt's involvement with the sport goes back nearly half a century.

Former Phoenixville Math Teacher Makes PA Softball Hall of Fame

First and foremost, there is something called the Annual Softball Association of Pennsylvania Hall of Fame. Secondly, a former Phoenixville Area School District teacher is about to be inducted into it.

According to The Phoenix, Tom Schadt, 66, will get the honor on March 2. Schadt, now retired, spent 36 years teaching in the district while moonlighting as a fervently active member of the state’s softball community.

He’s sponsored teams for 44 years, been a league administrator for 40, and played slow-pitch softball himself for the past 46 years.

We can’t speak to his abilities on the diamond, but when it comes to the breadth of his career, he’s clearly hit a home run.
