Identity Theft

A 63-year-old resident of the 700 block of Westridge Way told police that her credit card company called and reported charges to her card in California, where she had not been. On September 3, she came to the station and police advised her on how to proceed.

Terroristic Threats

On September 3 at 3:44 p.m., a 24-year-old female borough resident told police that she had received a series of threatening text messages from a 20-year-old man. The woman came to the station, and police took photographs of the messages. They then contacted the man and instructed him not to contact the woman again. Charges are pending.

Bent Rims, Harsh Words

On September 2 at 12:18 p.m., a 23-year-old Phoenixville man told police he bought car rims from a 21-year-old Collegeville man and subsequently discovered that the rims were bent.  The Phoenixville man called the Collegeville man, but reported that the man went on a verbal tirade. Police advised the Phoenixville man that it was a civil matter and told the Collegeville man not to have any more contact with the Phoenixville man. The Collegeville man added he wished to press charges for harassment, but police told him to contact his local department.

Couple Spar on Starr

On September 1 at 11:25 p.m., a man reported seeing a man and a woman fighting on the corner of Bridge Street. Police eventually tracked down a 55-year-old borough woman and a 53-year-old man from Wilmington, Delaware. The couple admitted to hitting each other, but neither had any bruises. Police told them to go home.

Friday Night Fights

On August 31 at 8:27 p.m., two Phoenixville Area Middle School students were caught fighting in the stands of the Phoenixville High School Football game. Both of the students had had issues with fighting the previous school year. According to the report, the students exchanged words before one hit the other, causing him to fall in the stands. The boy was looked at by EMTs and taken to Phoenixville Hospital to have his injuries tended to. The officer discussed the incident with Phoenixville Principal Craig Parkinson, and Parkinson said the school would handle the matter.
