An Advance Auto employee faces criminal charges after the auto shop says he conducted a series of false returns over the summer, East Pikeland Police are reporting.
Andrew Gilbert, 34, of Douglasville, faces charges of theft by deception stemming from the incidents.
According to court documents, police were called to the Schuylkill Road auto parts store on September 26 when a loss prevention specialist discovered that Gilbert had been conducting false returns on batteries.
The store’s loss prevention specialist alleged that Gilbert pulled off eight such returns between July 28 and September 7 for a total cost to the store of $1,360.82. The man furnished police with copies of the transaction records and a letter of confession he said Gilbert signed in front of him.
Andrew Gilbert faces preliminary hearing on November 15.
