Police Say Woman Was Drunk When She Caused Three-Car Accident

A Downingtown woman was intoxicated when she caused a three-car accident in the borough last weekend, are reporting.

Anne Nicole Ketter, 29, was charged with four counts of DUI, careless driving, and driving at safe speed after the accident.

According to court documents, on September 8 at 2:30 a.m., Ketter struck the back of a motorcycle that was stopped at a red light on Bridge Street at the corner of Gay Street and sent the bike, and its driver, crashing into the vehicle that was stopped ahead of them.

When police responded to the scene, Ketter reportedly smelled like alcohol and had glassy eyes. When the officer asked Ketter if she had been drinking, she replied “No, I am the designated driver.” She proceeded to fail three field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI.

She was taken to to have blood drawn and faces preliminary hearing on October 11.
