The high holidays begin Sunday at sundown.

Local Synagogues to Hold Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur Services

Two synagogues in Monroeville will be hold Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur services beginning this weekend.

Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, begins Sunday at sundown. Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for Jewish people, begins Sept. 25.

Here are service times from Temple David in Monroeville and the Chabad Jewish Center of Monroeville.

Temple David, 4415 Northern Pike

High Holiday Services:

  • Rosh Hashana eve, Sunday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m.
  • Rosh Hashana day, Monday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. 
  • Rosh Hashana children's service, Monday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m.   
  • Tashlich, Monday, Sept. 17,  at 4:15 p.m.
  • Rosh Hashana second-day morning services, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. 
  • Kol Nidrei/Yom Kippur eve, Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. 
  • Yom Kippur Day, Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m.

Chabad Jewish Center of Monroeville

High Holiday Services will be held at the Comfort Suites Monreville, 2731 Mosside Boulevard. To attend any of the following services, contact Rabbi Mendy at 412-372-1000 or Chabad@JewishMonroeville.com .

High Holiday Services:

  • Rosh Hashana day, Monday, Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m.
  • Rosh Hashana second-day, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 9:30 a.m. 
  • Kol Nidrei/Yom Kippur eve, Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. 
  • Yom Kippur Day, Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. Closing services will be held at 6 p.m.
