Massive Mulch Pile Catches Fire Thursday In Radnor: Fire Company
A huge pile of mulch in Skunk Hollow Park caught fire Thursday morning, sending smoke across the Main Line and Delaware County.

VILLANOVA, PA – A massive pile of mulch at Skunk Hollow Park in Villanova caught fire and sent a large cloud of smoke over the Main Line and Delaware County Thursday morning.
The Radnor Fire Company said at about 6:25 a.m. Thursday, May 24 crews were called to a large mulch fire at the park.
Due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area, crews brought in water tanker trucks from Malvern and Paoli to assist with extinguishing the fire, which reportedly began sometime during the night, the fire company said.

After a few hours of work, crews had the fire under control, the fire company said
Fire officials said the fire is believed to have started in a township-owned mulching machine in the park, however the cause is being investigated still.

The Berwyn, Malvern and Paoli fire companies assisted Radnor fire crews on the scene.
There were no reported injuries.
