How To Recycle Drugs in the Roxborough Area

Patch users across the Philadelphia area have shown increasing interest in how to recycle or safely dispose of any number of household items. So we've put together a series of resources for you and your neighbors, including locations in Roxborough-Manayunk Patch and nearby. If we miss any item you want to know how to properly dispose of or recycle, please let us know in the comments.

Why Recycle Prescription Drugs?

While there are some prescription drugs that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says are safe to flush down the toilet, the FDA says that take-back programs are best because they reduce the chance that others may accidentally take the medicine and reduce the trace amounts of medicine in the country’s water system.

How to Recycle Drugs:

The FDA says the best way to dispose of expired or unwanted prescription or over-the-counter drugs is to take them to a take-back event.
