Voter Registration Deadline Tuesday

Tuesday is the cut-off to register to vote in the presidential election.

Voter Registration Deadline Tuesday

Separate from the discussion on Voter ID, Tuesday brings the deadline for Pennsylvanians to register to vote in the Nov. 6 presidential election.

Pennsylvania residents have until the close of the business day Tuesday to either register to vote, change their party affiliation or notify voting officials of an address change. Whether the Voter ID Law requires citizens to show photo identification is in effect, or not (as is currently the case), citizens must still be registered to vote.

Voter registration applications are available at County Boards of Elections, post offices, state liquor stores, and all free library branches, or can be downloaded at  www.seventy.org and www.votespa.com.

Voters can also register at PennDot photo license centers, armed forces recruitment offices, state offices that provide public assistance to the disabled, county clerk of orphans offices, area agencies of the aging, centers for independent living, county mental health offices, student disability services, offices of special education, and ADA complementary paratransit offices.

Philadelphia residents can submit completed registration forms by mail, or in person, to the Philadelphia County Board of Elections at 520 N Delaware Ave, 5th Floor, Philadelphia, PA, 19123.

Voters who don't know if they are registered can call the Philadelphia County Board of Elections at 215-686-1591 or 1-877-VOTESPA for an update on their status.
