Sunday marked the two-month anniversary of the disappearance of a beloved 10-year-old pet near Susquehanna Street and Emmaus Avenue in Salisbury Township. In spite of the dedicated efforts of many Salisbury and Saucon Valley area volunteers, "Ruby the Greyhound" remains missing.

An aerial quadrant search that was scheduled for Saturday was delayed and ultimately called off because of low clouds and fog, but hundreds of canine-loving helpers were drawn to Hellertown to assist with it according to a Channel 69 News story.

The aerial search by a volunteer pilot from the Brave Tide Foundation has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 16 at 9:30am, according to an update posted on the RUBY the Lost Greyhound Facebook page.

As of Monday the Facebook page had a total of 725 likes.

According to another post made Sunday, Lehigh University Police have gone so far as to check surveillance footage of the Creek Road area in hopes of spotting Ruby, without luck.

Ruby was last seen in the area of Stabler Arena in Lower Saucon Township in mid-December.

She is white with a scar on her face and weighs about 50 pounds.

A former racing dog, Ruby also has a cropped tail and a tattoo.

Anyone who sees her is asked not to chase her, but instead to call 484-788-8580 as soon as possible.

On the Facebook page, Ruby's owner and "mom" Beth had the following to say about her pet:

"Ruby is a wonderful, gentle soul who wouldn't hurt a fly. ... She loves her food, and never did we have any issues with her not eating, not even if she wasn't feeling well! She absolutely loves her walks, no matter the weather she's right there ready to go. ... My favorite nickname for her is Ruby Slippers. She is our princess girl."
