Mother, Son Killed in Fiery Crash [Video]

Sharon Gonzalez-Medina, 41, of Whitehall Township, and her 16-year-old son, George Sanchez, were the two people killed Saturday when a pickup truck hit their car, which burst into flames on MacArthur Road near St. John's United Church of Christ-Mickleys.

Newsworking.net posted graphic video of the car in flames.

Gonzalez-Medina's car was turning right onto MacArthur Road from Eberhart Road when she was hit by a pickup truck traveling north at a high rate of speed about 6 p.m., according to the reports. Gonzalez-Medina and son were pronounced dead shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday.

The two crash victims were identified through dental records, according to the Lehigh County coroner's office. Their cause of death was multiple blunt force traumatic injuries, the coroner said.

State police closed the road for about three hours Tuesday to reconstruct the accident. Police have not released the name of the truck driver or said if charges will be filed.

Nearly 100 people attended a candlelight vigil for the crash victims this week, according to a WFMZ report. The mother and son will be buried in Puerto Rico.

"Two beautiful souls which will be deeply missed."

"She was my best friend, she was a wonderful mother, wife, friend, daughter, and sister. Sharon had a big kind heart and I will miss her very much. This message is to those who didn't know her. She was very dedicated to her family and to God. May she RIP."
