A German Tradition: Annual Sewickley Oktoberfest Begins Tonight
It's time for brats, sauerkraut, beer and polka.

There is a littleΒ something for everyone to enjoyΒ atΒ the second annualΒ Sewickley Oktoberfest, whichΒ kicks off at 5 p.m.Β tonight.
Saturday, Oct. 5Β bringsΒ the inauguralΒ Kids Oktoberfest, which runs from 1 to 4 and the secondΒ Das Dachshund Dash,Β a GermanΒ Oktoberfest tradition, at 3 p.m.
All ages can enjoyΒ Oktoberfest contests, from the chicken dance and polka contests to a beer stein holding competition and pretzel toss.
Food and drinksΒ will be available for purchases, and for those 21 and older, there will be plenty ofΒ Great Lakes Oktoberfest and Spaten Lager.
Admission is $10.Β The event is a fundraiser for Village Green Partners, dedicated to promotingΒ Sewickley.Β

- 3 p.m.Β Das Dachshund Dash -Β The winning weiners will be rewarded with first, second and third places.Β The entrance fee per dachshund is $5.Β
