The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for all of Chester County, including Tredyffrin and Easttown, and most of the mid-Atlantic region until 10 p.m. Friday.
The advisory warns the heat index could reach 105 degrees Friday afternoon, with the most intense temperatures coming between 1 and 6 p.m.. The advisory says the heat will not be as intense as last Friday afternoon when the heat index topped 110 degrees in parts of the area. It was so hot last Friday that the temperature inside the "Patchmobile" parked at Paoli Shopping Center topped 120 degrees in a matter of minutes.
The experiment Patch performed last Friday serves as a good example of the danger associated with intense heat. The advisory cautions that anyone working outdoors should take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water. The Weather Service also recommends checking on elderly neighbors and relatives.
