Morning After: Hangover Cures

The best way to avoid a hangover is not to drink. Other ways to try avoid a hangover are to eat before drinking and to drink plenty of water while drinking alcohol to counteract the dehydrating effects of booze.

Having some water and a snack should help, according to the Mayo Clinic, which agrees on the sleep and Aspirin suggestion.
