Tech Firm To Open in Berwyn, Bringing 153 New Jobs to the Area

Good news for the Chester County economy. The Governor's Action Team helped facilitate the move.

Governor Wolf's office announced Wednesday that a national business would be establishing a new location in Chester County, resulting in 153 new jobs in the area.

Envestnet, Inc., a provider of wealth management technology and related services, will move into a 63,000 square foot office space in Berwyn.

“Pennsylvania’s pro-business reputation continues to grow as more and more realize the unbridled potential the commonwealth offers,” Governor Wolf said in a a press release. “Envestnet’s commitment to Pennsylvania and Chester County is a win-win, bringing 153 jobs that pay, helping to bolster the area and our state.”

Wolf's office said that Envestnet will invest nearly $5 million in the new move, and that the 153 jobs would be fully created within three years.

Envestnet received $459,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits from the state, and $36,000 in state funding for employee training, Wolf's office said.

“We are proud to be able to contribute to the economies of Chester County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” said Bill Crager, president of Envestnet. “We have already welcomed 115 employees since moving into our facility in June, and we expect our team in Berwyn to include well above 153 professionals by the end of the year.”

The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, a group of economic development professionals who WORK businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.

Envestnet was founded in 1999. Their Berwyn offices will be located at 1000 Chesterbrook Blvd, Suite 135.
